Isolation and characterization of Ralstonia solanacearum causing bacterial wilt of solanaceae crops

There exists a lot of controversy regarding the prevalence of strains in the various parts of the world. In India, however, scant information is available about the prevalence of biovars/races and strains in various parts of the country. Understanding local pathogen genetic diversity is the first step in a successful breeding and integrated disease management programme. One of the purposes of the present investigation on six isolates of R. solanacearum causing wilt on tomato and brinjal isolated from different agro-climatic zones of Karnataka is to characterize then into races, biovars and phylotype.

The status quo of knowledge management and sustainability knowledge

Organizations that aspire to be economically viable as well as socially and environmentally responsible global citizens, need to understand what sustainability means and how to institutionalize its principles. This paper posits that some of the underlying reasons for slow progress are lack of full understanding of the required knowledge and its systemic nature, as well as potentially insufficient knowledge management processes. It proposes that sustainability knowledge learning should include three “DCA” steps: 1) What to know: identify which knowledge is needed (DEFINE); 2) How to learn : develop strategies to identify sources and learning strategies for the requisite sustainability knowledge (COLLECT); 3) How to use sustainability knowledge: develop knowledge management practices that enable absorption and institutionalization (ACT).

The restoration of soil quality through carbon sequestration is major concern for tropical soils. The accelerated decomposition of soil organic carbon due to agriculture resulting in loss of carbon to the atmosphere and its contribution to the greenhouse effect is a serious global problem.

Histomorphology of thymus gland in Guinea fowl (Numida meleagris)

The thymus was collected from day old to nine months of age at monthly interval. Histomorphologically, the thymus gland in guinea fowl consists of cortex and medulla. Cortex was composed of small and medium sized lymphocytes, myoid cells and few Hassall’s corpuscles located in the meshwork of reticular cells. The medulla consisted of less densely packed medium and large sized lymphocytes with relatively more reticular cells and Hassall’s corpuscles. The reticuloepithelial cells were large cells with long cytoplasmic process located in both the region. Myoid cells were frequently found in the medulla and in the corticomedullary region, occasionally found in the cortex.

Screening and isolation of pigment producers and non-pigment producers actinomycetes from rhizosperic soil sample

In the present study, 8 Actinomycetes were isolates from rhizospheric soil from Karanja (Lad) District wahism. Out of 8 Actinomycetes isolates, two isolates was found to be sensitive against all isolates and shows very excellent zone of inhibition. Antagonastic activity against human pathogens like, S. aureus, E. coli, P. aeruginosa and P. vulgaris, was also carried out. From the complete observation it was noticed that isolate N obtained from neem soil and H from Hibiscus soil is having excellent antagonistic activity in controlling all the test pathogens.

Evaluation of high yielding strains of Agaricus bisporus (Lange) sing

The average fruiting body weight was observed to be significantly higher in case of strain Portbella (12.00 gm). In the growth behavior, U-3 gave the best performance followed by the other strains. Maximum average length, width of stalk and average width, length of cap was observed in Portbella followed by A-15, U-3, Delta, NCS-459 and minimum was observed in NCS-465.

Root knot nematode infections promoted by agricultural practice modifications in Vietnam and the impacts on rice production

In this study, we analyzed the reasons that could explain the unusual proliferation of PPN and its observed impacts on rice in Hai Duong Province, Vietnam. Three main hypotheses were tested: (i) A pest (nematode) highly aggressive to rice was emerging, (ii) Farmers used rice genotypes highly susceptible to nematode infections, and (iii) Modification of the farmer practices lead to the proliferation of the pest.

Bài viết nhằm nâng cao hiệu quả và phát triển bền vững, năm 2017 phường Hương An đã xây dựng vùng sản xuất hành lá VietGAP và đăng ký thương hiệu hành lá Hương An. Pha chế và thử nghiệm chế phẩm phòng chống bệnh nấm, rám quả ở cây bưởi trên cơ sở ứng dụng các hợp chất nano

Bài viết trình bày kết quả nghiên cứu pha chế và thử nghiệm chế phẩm phòng chống bệnh nấm cho cây bưởi Diễn từ các hợp chất nano. Chế phẩm được pha chế với tỷ lệ thành phần các chất: 500mg/L nano bạc, 10.000mg/L nano oxiclorua đồng, 50g/L polyvinylpyrrolidone, 15g/L nonyl phenol ethoxylate và 15g/L trietanolamin. Với các thành phần này, tác dụng chống nấm gỉ sắt, thán thư, ghẻ nhám của chế phẩm đạt hiệu lực là 71,5%, chống rám quả bưởi đạt hiệu lực là 80,6% ở nồng độ pha loãng là 100ml/10 lít nước.

Nghiên cứu tiến hành nuôi cấy bao phấn và noãn chưa thụ tinh trên 4 giống ớt gồm ớt hiểm (ớt chỉ thiên), ớt sừng bò, ớt chuông và ớt sừng giống Nhật. Chồi đơn bội có thể được thu nhận khi nuôi cấy bầu noãn hoặc bao phấn in vitro. Đây là bước quan trọng đầu tiên của qui trình tạo dòng đơn bội kép bằng phương pháp nuôi cấy mô tế bào thực vật.

Nghiên cứu tiến hành xác định thành phần hóa học của keo ong rừng Eawy (Đắk Lắk) so sánh với một mẫu keo ong châu Âu và một mẫu keo ong thương mại. Mẫu keo ong châu Âu có thành phần hóa học là flavonoid, acid phenolic và este liên quan đến keo ong loại poplar.
